In May of 2021, Manitoba was projecting its ICU capacity to be overwhelmed by critically ill COVID-19 patients. In a matter of days, a small team of healthcare system leaders in Manitoba and Ontario created and operationalized an unprecedented interprovincial crisis response system that averted ICU breakdown. Ultimately, 53 critically ill Manitobans were transferred to ICUs throughout Ontario over the month. Join the Canadian College of Health Leaders on March 2, 2022, for a presentation featuring guest speaker Brian Ktytor who will highlight how LEADS in a Caring Environment leadership capabilities were crucial to the success of this crisis response, and subsequently, to a similar interprovincial transfer crisis response from Saskatchewan.
