Author: Jaason Geerts, PhD, Director of Research and Leadership Development at the Canadian College of Health Leaders

In his Globe and Mail article, Jaason points out that public fear of COVID-19 has largely evaporated and people have let their guard down, however the fight is not over. The danger to society’s vulnerable continues, along with the toll on our healthcare systems, workers, and leaders. The recent closures of hospital emergency departments are one example.

He also recognizes that through COVID precautions, wise decision making, and being adaptive, the public and organizations can reduce the risk to society’s most vulnerable people and take pressure off our healthcare system and its workforce.
