Dr. Jaason Geerts, Vice-President, Research and Leadership Development at CCHL, and a team of collaborators, have published the article, “Gold standard research and evidence applied: The Inspire Nursing Leadership Program” in the May edition of Healthcare Management Forum. This article is the first to demonstrate how gold-standard evidence has been applied to the design of a leadership development program.
“To support health leaders in providing world-class care and in transforming health systems, it’s vital that leadership development programs are informed by the best available evidence, which is a top priority for CCHL” said Dr. Geerts.
This article addresses a critical gap in global leadership development within healthcare. With billions of dollars poured annually into leadership programs worldwide, it’s imperative to ensure these investments yield tangible results. The Inspire Nursing Leadership Program (INLP) is an initiative meticulously crafted to integrate gold standard evidence into its fabric, safeguarding against wasted resources and fostering meaningful outcomes.
Developed through a comprehensive process involving needs analysis and collaboration with experts in nursing, Indigenous perspectives, and equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), the INLP aims to empower participants to hone their leadership skills, forge strategic community alliances, spearhead innovation projects, and foster professional connections.
“Our paper offers educators evidence-based guidance to the design, delivery, and evaluation of healthcare leadership development programs” said Professor Jan Frich, Department of Health Management and Health Economics University of Oslo, Norway.
