Inspire Nursing: A LEADS-based Leadership Program

A Nursing Leadership Program

In partnership with the Canadian Nurses Association, this program was developed by nurses, for nurses, looking to explore and develop their leadership capabilities and influence change in the Canadian health system.

 

 

Program Overview

This program will cover a range of content, including defining individual leadership styles and growth opportunities, building engagement strategies, exploring systems thinking, and sparking change leadership abilities to influence the system within which the participants work. Inspire Nursing is delivered in a blended format that includes on-line synchronous and asynchronous facilitated learning that bookends a two-day in-person session.

  • Begin the process of a LEADS 360 assessment and 90-minute coached debrief, leadership development plan (LDP), and accountability agreement (AA).
  • Participate in an asynchronous CCHL Circle group and discussions throughout the program, which will be moderated by program facilitator.

Nurses from across the continuum of care, including direct care nurses, emerging leaders, new managers, existing leaders, and nursing executives, who are looking to create opportunities to increase their leadership capabilities and have an impact on the health system will be able to take advantage of this best-in-class, high impact program.

Inspire Nursing will keep the best aspects of the Dorothy Wylie Health Leaders Institute and be based in the LEADS in a Caring Environment health leadership capabilities framework. It is designed to provide nurses with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to be effective leaders in healthcare organizations and to effect system change. The innovative partnership will provide participants with membership in both organisations, and provide the ability to, upon completion, obtain the CHE designation and potentially a CNA certification.

Upon program completion, participants will have:

*Participants are required to successfully complete all aspects of the program to be eligible for the CHE credential.  There is an additional fee for those wishing to receive their credential.
