The Canadian College of Health Leaders is proud to announce that the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de Laval was named recipient of the 2020 Excellence in Patient Experience Award.
Since 2014, the CISSS de Laval has been implementing the Partenariat de soins et services (PSS, or Care and Services Partnership) at all levels of the organization: operational, tactical and strategic. The Care and Services Partnership developed by the Université de Montréal recognizes that users and their families have experiential and organizational knowledge that can be mobilized to improve the care relationship, structures, intervention processes and management. With clinical and administrative practices integrating knowledge, the real needs of users are better met.
The PSS is a transformational innovation in the relationship that managers, physicians and workers have with users, families and the community. The implementation of the PSS, with all clienteles, and at all clinical and administrative levels, has proven to be a huge undertaking. At the CISSS de Laval, this results in the participation of “user partners” in improving the experience of users and their families.
The Excellence in Patient Experience Award is focused on honouring organizations and individuals who have set in place innovations that improve the human experience in healthcare. The award highlights and recognizes innovations that have made a change to how patients and their families experience healthcare services.
The award is sponsored by Huron Advisors Canada Limited (previously known as Huron Studer Group). Huron works with over 850 healthcare organizations teaching them how to achieve, sustain and accelerate exceptional clinical, operational and functional outcomes.
